Kyaiktiyo

In 1982 the only accommodations at the top were small little huts for the pilgrims, often run families. This young lady ran the hut where I stayed. Eating with the family, I remember thinking, “This is really good rice.” Not long afterward I noticed the large rice sack propped against the wall, which said “Gift of the people of the United States.” Mostly likely grown in Colusa County, California.
